Is it over before it’s ever really started? (Picture: BBC)

It’s the morning after the night before. And the date between Jimmi and (Adrian Lewis Morgan) Maeve (Clelia Murphy) seems to have gone very well indeed.

Or has it?

Jimmi is worried. Has he slept through his golden opportunity for romance with the Sutton Vale nurse? Or will another chance come along soon?

Meanwhile, Princess (Laura White) is up to her old tricks again.

She’s been on holiday, no doubt a welcome escape from all the recent Bear (Dex Lee) and Sid (Ashley Rice) kerfuffle. But already she’s looking for ways to palm off her responsibilities to Emma (Dido Miles). Thankfully, Emma has her suspicions about Princess’s character already and is having none of it.

Sid (Ashley Rice), meanwhile, becomes involved in an interesting case involving a sculptor. The sculptor in question is Diarmud Conroy (Mark Rice-Oxley), a well-known and respected figure who has just won a commission to devise a sculpture on the local sculpture trial.

The trouble occurs when it becomes clear that Diarmud’s latest work represents a dramatic and radical departure from everything he has ever done before.

The change is so large, in fact, that his usually ever-supportive partner, Patsy (Emma Beattie), who has a career as an artist herself, develops serious doubts about it.

She wonders: could the terminal brain tumour which Diamond was diagnosed with recently, be affecting the output and quality of his work?

Later in the week, Emma (Dido Miles) learns that her attacker (from two years ago) has finally been caught.

Doctors airs these scenes w/c Monday May 30 on BBC One.
