What did we learn from Kaley’s interview on The Late Late Show? Her dad is ad-or-able (Picture: CBS)

Kaley Cucoo got emotional during an appearance on The Late Late Show on Monday, revealing her doting father came to watch her film every single episode of The Big Bang Theory.

The actress, 36, starred as Penny for 279 episodes of the sitcom until it came to an end in 2019.

And her dad Gary Cuoco literally turned up to every single taping, never missing a single one.

‘He had a director’s chair with his name on it,’ Kaley told James Corden, 43.

‘He never sat in it. He always stood. And every night for curtain and bows and for intros, he would be at the top and he would give me a thumbs up.’

Gary’s enthusiasm rubbed off, and Kaley revealed the cast and crew would all give a thumbs up back too.

‘The whole audience ended up doing it,’ Kaley said. ‘It was like a weekly thing. It was just very special for all of us.

‘My Dad still misses our live tapings at Big Bang. I couldn’t do a show without him at that point, it had been years. I kept thinking you can’t miss one now you are part of the show.’

Tearing up, Kaley recalled how her dad had always been her biggest supporter.

‘He was the one when I was little who had these videotapes of me,’ she continued.

‘He would ask me ”make a smiley face, make a sad face, be angry”, and trying to see what I had. I was such a ham and I still have all those tapes.’

Before joining James, Kaley went public with her new boyfriend, Ozark’s Tom Pelphrey, for the first time, months after she confirmed her split with husband Karl Cook.

The couple were spotted belly laughing together and holding hands as they supported Greg Berlanti, an executive producer on Kaley’s hit series The Flight Attendant, receive his Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Late Late Show airs weeknights on CBS in the US.
