Destiny 2’s latest big update has hit and with it Bungie has refreshed all Solar abilities.

Bungie’s current goal with Destiny 2 – other than making sure there’s enough to do – is to update every subclass, to get them up to speed with the rest of the game.

Solar, Void, Arc, and Stasis are the four subclasses you can choose, as a Titan, Gunslinger or Warlock. Each class brings their own unique twist on the subclasses, but with Stasis becoming a fan favourite, it quickly left the original three behind.

Void has seen its 3.0 update with the introduction of the current expansion, The Witch Queen, and now it’s Solar’s turn to get a new set of spices on the rack.

Solar’s focus is on burning and healing, as well as helping out the other players in your immediate circle. While you’ll be doing a lot of crowd control by setting everyone ablaze, it’s your other abilities that come with the class that are most useful.

Bungie has handily laid out all their plans for the new update in a new development diary, where they emphasise that they want to keep the fun while making sure the game is still balanced.

However, it seems if you peruse YouTube right now, some people have been cooking up what they claim are ‘broken’ variations. However, a lot of people appear to be focusing on the competitive aspect, rather than the various missions and quests you can undertake.

Destiny 2 Solar 3.0 abilities:

Here are the abilities that you’ll need to keep tabs on while you explore the new Solar 3.0 class:

Cure – You are healed in a burst of rejuvenescent Solar Light.Restoration – You continuously regenerate health and shields over time. Cannot be interrupted by taking damage. Radiant – Your weapons are enhanced by the power of the Traveler and deal increased damage to foes.Scorch – The target is singed by destructive Solar Light, taking damage over time. Scorch damage increases as the target accumulates more Scorch stacks. After 100 Scorch stacks are applied to the target, they Ignite. Ignite – A large, damaging Solar explosion in an area around the target.

Grenades have also been given a rework for Solar 3.0, with healing grenades being introduced. These can track your allies for a perfect shot each time.

Destiny 2 Solar 3.0 all aspects:

Aspects were introduced in Beyond Light, with each one granting you the option for a powerful ability. When first introduced, Beyond Light brought the Stasis class with it and the aspects formed a large portion of a quest line as you collected each one.

Solar 3.0 brings with it the same system, with three different aspects for each class. However, you won’t need to play any missions for access, as these will be replacing everything for the Solar class. Simply load up the game and you’ll be introduced to it.

Destiny 2 Solar 3.0: Titan aspects

For Titans, Bungie has focused on making these characters powerhouses. You can now bring down the fury of two flaming hammers onto your foes:

Roaring FlamesFinal blows with Solar abilities or ignitions increase the damage of Solar abilities. This stacks three times. Sol InvictusSolar ability final blows, Hammer of Sol impacts, and defeating scorched targets create Sunspots. Your abilities regenerate faster, and your Super drains more slowly while standing in a Sunspot.Sunspots apply scorch and deal damage to targets inside. Entering a Sunspot applies restoration.ConsecrationWhile sliding, activate your charged melee ability to launch a wave of Solar energy forward, damaging and scorching targets in front of you as you leap into the air. While airborne, activate your charged melee again to slam to the ground and create a second larger wave of damaging Solar energy. If the wave hits a scorched target, they ignite.

Destiny 2 Solar 3.0: Gunslinger aspects

The Gunslinger has been reworked to ensure that you feel like those old western movies, with the bundle of grenades you can throw easily shot in mid-air for a remote detonation.

Knock ‘Em DownYour Solar Supers are enhanced. Golden Gun – Deadshot has increased duration, Golden Gun – Marksman has increased damage resistance and duration, and Blade Barrage launches more projectiles. On Your MarkPrecision final blows grant you and your nearby allies increased weapon handling and reload speed for a short duration. Stacks 3 times.Activating your class ability immediately grants maximum stacks of On Your Mark.Gunpowder GambleDefeat targets with abilities, Solar debuffs, or Solar weapons to charge up an improvised Solar explosive.Throw a solar explosive that can be shot in mid-air to cause an ignition.

Fragments are universal between each class, altering the way you play to suit your needs. Currently, Stasis and Void have these as well, leaving players suspecting that Arc will also receive this function down the line.
