Depp has taken legal action on his former partner over an article she wrote in the Washington Post, titled: ‘I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change’.
While his name was not mentioned in the op-ed, his lawyers have said that this implies Heard was subjected to abuse during their marriage – something he has denied.
The Aquaman actress is countersuing for $100million, alleging that he libeled her by calling her a liar.
The bombshell case began in April and has since seen the former couple appear on the stand to discuss their relationship.
As well as this, a number of others have testified, including Kate Moss, Heard’s sister and Depp’s former bodyguard.
The trial continues.
