Will Paul and Terese reunite before the big finale? (Picture: Channel 5 / Fremantle)
The former Lassiter’s general manager split from Paul last year, but his near-death experience at Roxy and Kyle’s wedding led to their passion being reignited.
Paul, however, ultimately sabotaged their future, after he reverted to form and lied, paying a doctor to make out that his health was worse than it was so that Terese would stay by his bedside.
Paul has since gone out of his way to make life difficult for Terese, refusing to play ball when it comes to divorce proceedings, and manipulating her at every given opportunity.
Terese, meanwhile, has found solace in Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett), which has only antagonised Paul further.

Despite the animosity between the two, however, actress Rebekah Elmaloglou reckons that Terese’s heart will always belong to Paul.
‘I know they’re going through a revoltingly hideous divorce right now, but I hope – though it might be leaving it too late! – that something happens with Terese and Paul before the show ends,’ she told Metro.co.uk.
‘We’re crossing our fingers!
‘Glen and Terese, in the meantime, are a good match. But we don’t know what’s happening in the last couple of weeks, so anything could happen!’
The tension between Paul and Terese is at an all-time high, with the former having orchestrated an elaborate scheme to get the latter of out of Lassiters altogether.

Terese was subsequently fired from the hotel chain, despite Paul having been responsible for it losing thousands of pounds.
‘I think Terese is kind of done with Lassiters,’ Rebekah told us of the plot development. ‘I’m hoping another opportunity will come up for her, but in saying that, I’ve always loved being the Queen of Lassiters! [laughs]. But there will be some sort of payback as far as Paul goes, absolutely!’
Consider us intrigued.
Neighbours is set to conclude in August after 37 years on the air. With just over eight weeks to go, one can’t help but wonder just where Paul and Terese will be by the time the credits roll on the final episode.
‘I think the Terese and Paul thing, there might be more of an acceptance there, but there is also a very strong connection that’s come through,’ added Rebekah.
‘Where that goes, I really don’t know, and I’d be surprised if it made a massive turnaround in the last couple of weeks. I think they will explore their relationship a little bit further. I hope they do! It would be sad to end the show on them hating each other.’
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1:45pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
