Tottenham are set to join Arsenal in the race to sign Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans this summer.

Tielemans, 25, has just a year left on his contract and is thought to be available for a cut-price fee of £25 million.

The Gunners are looking to sign a midfielder and are interested in Tielemans due to his reasonable asking price.

However, according to ESPN, the Belgian is also one of Spurs’ main targets with Antonio Conte’s side eager to add to their current options of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield.

In recent seasons, Tielemans has emerged as one of Leicester’s most important players.

Last year, he scored the winning goal for the Foxes in their FA Cup triumph over Chelsea at Wembley.

He has made over 150 appearances for the Midlands side and has scored 24 goals.

Mikel Arteta is keen on signing Tielemans with his team struggling to cover the absences of Thomas Partey last season.

And having qualified for the Europa League next term, the Gunners need a bigger squad to cope with the additional matches.

The north London side have also been linked with moves for the likes of Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

However, without Champions League football to offer, there is always the possibility of losing out on their top targets to their rivals.

Reports suggest Conte will be given a £150million transfer budget this summer and wants to bring in six players.

The Italian’s side pipped Arteta’s Arsenal to fourth place in the Premier League in the final few games of last season.
