Britney Spears took to social media on Saturday with a revelation for her fans as she shared that she was apparently invited to the 2022 Met Gala.

However, she decided to skip the exclusive celebrity event, known for drawing the cream of the crop in headline-grabbing outfits, opting to instead stay at home in her pyjamas.

The chart-topper also shared that her dislike of flying played a part in her decision too.

‘I was gonna go to Met Gala but instead I got in the tub with my dog and put pjs on 🐶😂 !!!’ the Toxic hitmaker wrote in her caption, alongside a video of herself posing in a red long-sleeved onesie with a heart and leopard print pattern.

‘I hate flying 🤷🏼‍♀️🌹🌹 !!!’ she added.

Pop star Britney also informed her fans that the video was a reshare, explaining: ‘Yes I reposted this video !!! I wanted it in real time in silence 🤫 !!! Why ??? I’ve never done that before !!!’

This year’s iteration of the annual star-studded fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute was co-chaired and hosted by wife and husband Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, as well as Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Vogue editor Anna Wintour is a long-running honorary co-chair of the event and has overseen the guest list with her team since 1995.

The Gilded Glamour dress code for 2022 saw some interesting interpretations, but the outfit that undoubtedly garnered the most attention was Kim Kardashian’s.
