George knows Frank from their childhood (Picture: ITV)
Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) has enjoyed getting to know newcomer Frank (Simon O’Brien) in Coronation Street, but everything will change soon when George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) comes face to face with him.
When Frank calls at No.11, Eileen (Sue Cleaver) assumes he’s an ex-prisoner selling door to door.
But when Sean arrives and confirms Frank is his boyfriend, Eileen is mortified.
In the pub, Sean shows off his new boyfriend and introduces him to George, who becomes flustered recognising Frank from school.
The next day, at Eileen’s request, Frank apologises to George for any upset he caused in the past, insisting he and Eileen join him and Sean for dinner to bury the hatchet.
But what will George say?
What did Frank do that’s made George so on edge following his arrival to Weatherfield?
Discussing Frank and Sean’s new relationship, Simon recently told us: ‘The reason that Frank and Sean hit it off is through humour. Frank finds Sean funny and Sean finds Frank funny and of course that’s a good basis for a relationship. He certainly isn’t Sean’s usual type. He doesn’t have any fashion sense and he is, shall I say, maybe one or two years older than Sean, or perhaps a few more.
‘So no, not Sean’s usual type but they hit it off, they have a certain rapport. Immediately Sean is quite smitten with Frank and actually does the chasing, which Frank is very flattered by, and off you go.
‘And seemingly what you then have is a blossoming romance and an ongoing romance. But of course there is history.’
