We’re yet to discover what happened in the lead up to the crash (Pictures: ITV)

Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) have been left for dead after crashing their car in last night’s episode of Coronation Street.

The build up to the crash was dramatic for Imran, who had just discovered Abi (Sally Carman) was planning on kidnapping Alfie and fleeing the country.

When Toyah discovered what was going on, she was furious and adamant Abi should be reported to the police.

Imran managed to stall Toyah, telling his wife they shouldn’t go to the police as he does feel a tiny bit sorry for Abi.

But after a conversation with Leanne (Jane Danson), Adam (Sam Robertson) and Nick (Ben Price), Toyah ignored Imran and went to the police station.

Fortunately, Imran arrived before Toyah reported the crime and revealed he needed to tell his wife something.

When the episode drew to a close, we saw Imran and Toyah unconscious in a smashed car.

Tonight, the aftermath airs.

Is Toyah Battersby leaving Coronation Street?

It’s an understandable question, given the fact she was involved in a huge car accident but no, Toyah Battersby isn’t leaving Corrie.

We know this as recently, actress Georgia Taylor reacted to the news Spider (Martin Hancock) is set to return to the cobbles.

‘I was shocked but then it kind of made sense, why wouldn’t you bring him back?’ the star said to Metro.co.uk.

‘We’ve been on Classic Corrie recently and we get tweets all the time asking to bring him back – they loved the character and us together.

‘It makes sense and the reaction was phenomenal when it was announced.’

‘It was a long time ago but when I’ve seen him since, and when I saw him at work last week, it just felt natural and normal, like “aw it’s Martin!”.’

So with these quotes in mind, we can safely confirm Georgia Taylor is still filming as Toyah Battersby.

Who is leaving Coronation Street?

One person who is definitely leaving the soap soon is Charlie de Melo, who plays Toyah’s husband Imran.

The way in which Imran leaves the street remains to be seen, but given his appalling behaviour as of late, it’s likely that he’ll have little reason to stick around when the truth comes out, as it’s possible all of his loved ones will turn against him.

Reacting to the news of Charlie’s exit, Georgia also told us: ‘We’ve been together on screen about three-and-a-half years. The last year, since Seb’s trial and Kelly being on trial for murder, has been pretty consistently busy!’

‘He is one of the most supportive people I’ve ever worked with,’ she said. ‘He knows if I have a big day he texts me and asks how it went.

‘He’s a really team player. And look at him, there’s no complaints there either, he’s beautiful!

‘I’m so excited to see what he’ll do next. The opportunities will be endless for him, I think he’s going to fly!’.
