Emma and Jasmine struggle to get answers (Picture: BBC)

Long-term Doctors fans will probably need no reminding of the nasty attack, Dr. Emma Reid (Dido Miles) and her then girlfriend, Jasmine Dajani (Lara Sawalha) were subjected to during a night out just over two years ago.

Certainly, Emma needs no reminding about the incident herself: she is still experiencing flashbacks, forcing her to relive the dramatic events of that traumatic night.

Now, finally, Blake Atkins (Louis Stannett), a young man, has been arrested for the crime. Both Emma and Jasmine have been invited to meet and confront the man who attacked them as part of a restorative justice session organised by Ren Mackintosh (Zita Sattar).

It proves to be a difficult day for everyone involved. Emma grows frustrated as Blake seems unable to answer even the simplest questions: why did he attack them? Was it because they were lesbians?

Jasmine is left understandably distressed by the meeting (Picture: BBC)

Eventually, Jasmine becomes completely overwhelmed and suffers a panic attack. She and Emma temporarily leave the session and talk outside.

At the time of the attack, Emma and Jasmine were an item, but sadly the stress resulting from their ordeal finished off their relationship and they broke up very soon afterwards.

Is it possible even now that Emma and Jasmine could get back together? Will they both be able to continue the session until they end?

Will Blake be able to provide them with the answers they need? Will this experience enable them to put all of this behind them and move on with their lives?

It is a powerful and dramatic episode…
