Fancy a treat that looks super impressive, is easy to make, and that kids and grownups will love?
Here’s a recipe that ticks all those boxes: pineapple puff pastry flowers.
These tasty pastries work just as well for picnics as for a speedy dessert when you’re craving something sweet, and use tinned pineapple to get rid of any faff.
I like having them with custard and apple, or chucking some bananas on top.
Here’s how to make your own.
Recipe for pineapple puff pastry flowers
Pineapple rings (I use Princes tinned ones) Puff pastry Milk (to wash over) Blueberries (optional)
Start by cutting your puff pastry into large squares and putting on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Make slices in pastry like in the video. Dry your pineapple slices if you are using canned like mine. Place the slice in the centre of the pastry and join every corner to the centre. Place a blueberry in the middle, brush with milk and bake for 20mins at 180C until gold and crisp.
