Joseph is finally set to pay for his crimes (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Joseph Holmes (Olly Rhodes) is seemingly set to pay for his crimes in Hollyoaks, after Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) provided the police with vital evidence to have him arrested on suspicion of murder.

The teen murdered Saul Reeves (Chris Charles) during a hard-hitting knife crime storyline earlier this year.

The policeman’s death sent shockwaves through the eponymous village, and all fingers were pointed at DeMarcus Westwood (Tomi Ade), after a video went viral online of him holding a knife in front of Saul on the day of his death.

DeMarcus, however, was simply handing the knife to Saul, who had agreed to dispose of it for him.

Joseph recorded the moment in question, and edited out the ending two make DeMarcus look guilty. In reality, Joseph fatally wound the officer in a harrowing showdown.

After carrying out the crime, the killer planted Saul’s ring and the murder weapon on DeMarcus, who was subsequently arrested and sent to prison.

Vicky, meanwhile, came to realise that Joseph was the culprit after she discovered the full unedited video in Joseph’s emails, but Joseph convinced her to keep quiet.

But with the subject of DeMarcus’ freedom once again a topic of conversation, she ultimately decided to do the right thing, with Wednesday’s (October 5) outing of the serial drama seeing her get a confession out of him.

Vicky then made her excuses and headed to the bathroom, where she sent the full video of Saul’s death to Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams), as well as written confirmation that Joseph killed Saul.

Joseph, however, caught her in the act and terrified her, as he threatened her, before resorting to some incredibly nasty insults. Scott and a policeman arrived in the nick of time, with the latter arresting Joseph.

Has Vicky done enough to secure DeMarcus’ freedom?
